Privacy Policy
Last updated June 27, 2026
Alar Inspection Report is built to keep your inspection data on your own computer. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and who we share it with.
The short version
- Your drawings and measurements never leave your browser. They are processed locally and are not uploaded to us.
- We only hold what is needed to run your account and billing: your email address and your subscription status.
- Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't run advertising or behavioral tracking inside the app.
Who we are
The app is provided by Alar Systems LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. For any privacy question, email [email protected].
What we collect
- Account email. You give us an email address to create an account, start a trial, or sign in by magic link. We store it to identify your account and send sign-in and account emails.
- Billing details. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment information and shares with us a customer identifier and your subscription status (active, canceled, past due, and renewal dates). We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Basic server logs. Like any web service, our hosting provider records technical request data (such as IP address and timestamps) for security and reliability. These logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
Browser storage
The app uses your browser's local storage to save your work, named saves, and preferences between sessions. This data never leaves your device — it is not transmitted to us. The app itself does not use tracking cookies.
Website analytics
Our public marketing website (alar-systems.com) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and whether a visitor starts a trial — so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects standard usage data such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address (Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your IP address). This applies to the marketing website only — it is not loaded inside the app, which stays local-first and sends no usage data to us or to Google. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
What we do not collect
- We do not upload, store, or have access to your drawings, dimensions, measurements, notes, or generated reports. All of that stays in your browser's local storage and in any files you choose to export.
- We do not embed third-party advertising or cross-site tracking in the app.
How we use what we collect
- To give you access to the app and verify your license status.
- To send required account and billing emails (sign-in links, trial and renewal notices, payment problems).
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Service providers we share with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. They only receive what they need to do their job:
- Stripe — payment processing and billing.
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, and security for the app and website.
- Resend — sending account and sign-in emails.
- Google Analytics — visitor analytics on the marketing website only (not the app).
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
Data retention
We keep your account email and billing status for as long as you have an account, and for up to five years afterward to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Sign-in links are short-lived and single-use. You can ask us to delete your account information as described below.
Your choices and rights
- You can request a copy of the account information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected].
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through the billing portal.
- Because your inspection content never reaches us, you control it directly — clearing it from your browser or deleting your exported files removes it.
Children
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
